Era Jackson Palermo

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Joe Palermo, of Dickinson; her son David Jackson and wife Velvet, of Boerne, Texas; her daughter Claudeen Ledford and husband Larry, of Dickinson; daughter-in-law Diane Jackson Glidden and husband Bill of Dickinson; granddaughters Shelley Flores, Davette Carothers, Lisa Manis, Lori Morgan, and Dancee Bess; grandson Dennis Jackson and 13 great-grandchildren who loved her dearly and affectionately referred to her as “Mama Bill.”

She is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Claude Raymond Jackson and her son Van Raymond Jackson.

Era resided in Dickinson for more than six decades and had many lifelong friends. She was an active member of Dominion Church where she found great pleasure supporting Christian youth activities and Women’s Ministry. She was the 2003 Lay Leader of the Year for the South Texas District Council of the Assemblies of God.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, April 7, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Forest Park East in Webster. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8th at 12:30 at Forest Park East with Pastors Greg Thurstonson, Clint deGroot and Bill Glidden officiating.

Pallbearers will be Grandson Dennis Jackson and Grandsons-in-law: Bobby Manis, Jason Morgan, Charles Bess, and Steve Carothers.
