

Eugene Charles Trbula passed peacefully on July 9, 2026. He was 89 years old. Born on July 11, 1936 in George West, Texas. Eugene worked for Todd Shipyard for a short time. He began his career at the Texas City Terminal where he retired after 42 years of dedicated service.
He dedicated his entire life to hard work, pouring his energy into every endeavor to ensure his family was always provided for and protected.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, William John Trbula Sr. and Pauline Antonia Trbula Rivers; loving wife, Barbara Joyce Pawlowski Trbula; his brother, William John Trbula Jr.; his sister, Pauline Victoria Stephens; his brother-in-law, Donald Monnell; nephew, Daniel Monnell; great nephew, Jason Reed.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Monnell and Jane Fisher; his children, Vicki Darden (Raymond), Lou Chapman (Mike), Carol Miller (Brad), Will Trbula (Rachel), Shari Valentine (Steve); his grandchildren, Raymond Darden (Beth), Candice Cappadona (Johnny), Bradly Miller (Nicole), Kristen Dee (Robbie), Krystal Herbeck (Seth), Alston Trbula (Laura), Ashley Miller, Skyler Valentine, and Sydney Valentine. He also leaves behind 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Eugene, known to many friends as Reno-Geno loved the thrill of the game. Whether he was playing over a game of dominos, rolling the dice, or lining up for the perfect shot at the pool table, he was always in his element. He enjoyed adventurous trips to Vegas. When he wasn't playing games or trying his luck at the table, you could find him unwinding with a classic western movie or listening to the king himself, Elvis.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Sharon Smith for her compassionate care, kindness, love and support during Eugene's last chapter and final days.
He enjoyed fishing and he loved the roar of the crowd while attending football games as a proud Derrick Doll dad.
