To my Dad,

I'm sure you're up there in the heavens right now, watching over us.. Just know that everything is going to be okay! We're gonna keep the wheels spinning down here. You can take your time to rest up and move forward on your journey. Don't worry, the girls will be okay, the grass will get cut, we've got all kinds of family pitching in and helping out. Nothing will shape up to you, your place in this family was absolutely foundational, I've learned so much from you, everyone talks about how smart, driven, or dedicated you were, literally everyone I talk to.. I can't understand the decision you made, but I can't be upset either. You worked so hard for us, for 2 decades. First one awake, Last one to bed, Everyday.. Thank you for your sacrifice to this family, your blood, sweat, tears, sleepless nights, you did your absolute best, no matter how tired you were, no matter the pain you were going through, we always had everything we needed, always. you raised us to be strong, willful achievers just like yourself. I'll run with that Dad, and I'm telling you I'm gonna run with it. I'll make you proud. 

You can finally rest now.. The weight you carried, the pain you pushed through, the sacrifices you made, we see them now more than ever. We’ll carry your name, your lessons, and your strength forward, and we’ll make sure your fight was not in vain.

Felix, where do I even begin? I know at times we didn’t always see eye to eye on things, but the one thing I know for certain is just how much you loved ❤️ Crystal and your family! It was evident since the first time I met you both. No matter how annoyed you and I may of been with each other you always came to helped me and Julian. If it was to help fix my car, or even picking up your trash cans after I had run them over for the millionth time. You will truly be missed. Thank you for sharing your family with both me and Julian. My love and prayers will be with Crystal and your family. I know the Lord will watch over you and take care of you.

I don’t even know how to write this, but here I go.  Since the day you left us a whole part of me left with you. You were not just my husband, you were truly my Best Friend, my Soulmate, my Protector and my greatest strength and support. 
I really don’t know how to navigate without you or how I am navigating without you besides by Gods Grace.  I truly don’t want to do this life without you, 26 years with you by my side wasn’t enough.

I’m truly grateful to have known Felix, and have him as a neighbor, a friend and most importantly a Brother In Christ! I met Felix and Crystal and their kids in 2017 and have had the pleasure and privilege of calling them neighbors and friends. I could use many words to describe Felix,  here are a few. He was kind, compassionate, funny, friendly, devoted, caring and willing to help others at the drop of a hat. Felix was always putting others before himself, I witnessed his dedication and commitment  & Love for His family often. He was a work-horse, fixing cars for family or friends, mowing his lawn regularly going to work every day without fail to provide for his family. He helped me with several projects and if I wasn’t sure about how to do something, Felix was my go to guy and happy to help me. He always had a smile and I always loved our conversations. It is still so hard to believe that he is no longer with us physically, however he will live in our hearts forever ❤️ I am so grateful that the Good Lord crossed our paths. I don’t understand this journey called life sometimes because it just isn’t fair, however I have learned that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts! I was fortunate to witness a man that loved well, Felix loved his Queen (Crystal) and was such a great Dad that loved his kids and grandkids and was extremely proud of them all. I’m sure going to miss him as we all will 😔 I know this  that there are no goodbyes In Christ, rather there is I Will See You Later 😇 So Rest Easy My Brother, until we meet again, My Boys and I Love You and will miss you tremendously and remember what an incredible impact you made in Our lives🙏

Our dear sweet and loving son in law, Felix … our hearts have been deeply shattered with this tremendous loss in our family. 

Felix always had a polite mannerism, a warm smile, always caring, sweet and a beautiful heart of gold. I will never forget how loving and caring you were to your wife Crystal, my daughter, throughout y’all’s entire marriage. In sickness and in health, you were always there for her. It will be hard not to see you at Crystal’s side as y’all were everywhere together, like two peas in a pod. 

A short sweet story … two years ago at my birthday celebration, after eating, talking and laughing, my 92 yrs young mother became tired & decided to go rest. Some of us women decided to follow to help her onto the tall bed, to no avail. It was too high.  Fortunately before we could request a man’s help, there was Felix to the rescue. He then carefully lifted and carried her onto the bed, helping her with pillows to make her comfortable. Mom smiled at him,  acknowledged him and thanked him for being so sweet. That was my mijo, with his love and caring traits, big or small, tired or not, he was always there to help anyone willingly.

Felix, mijo … thank you so much for the love you gave all our family and for the example you set. We feel the empty space you left, but we definitely feel so blessed to have been able to call you our son. We miss you so much already, but you will be in our hearts forever and always!

There are people who become family by marriage, and then there are people who simply become your brother. Felix was that to me.

Some people would say Felix was quiet, but if you were lucky enough to really know him, you knew he had the funniest sense of humor. Growing up, every time I was at the Velasquez house, he was always pulling a prank on me or making me laugh. Those are some of the memories I’ll always hold close.

Summer days at the Velasquez house were the best. Felix made sure all the gaming stations were set up and working, the BBQ was going, and the pools were ready for everyone. Crystal always had the snacks, and together they made their home a place where everyone felt welcome.

As I got older, Felix became the brother I could always count on. If I needed tires, wanted a lift on one of my vehicles, or had a question about my car, he was one of guys I’d call. He never hesitated to help. Cesar always went to Felix for car accessories, and afterward he’d proudly tell everyone, “My BIL did this.”

Felix, I was truly blessed to have you as my brother-in-law, but even more grateful to call you my brother. Thank you for the laughter, the memories, your kindness, and all the ways you showed up for our family. You will always be loved, never forgotten, and deeply missed.

I had the honor to meet Felix way back in 2001. Crystal had two little guys and Marissa was still in an infant car seat. When I think of Felix I can't but help see him walking in where ever we were getting together with Marissa in tote in her car seat just kicking away. The smile that he had on his face said it all. He was so proud of his little family. You wouldn't have ever known that Felix wasn,t their biological-father. He love each one of them as they were his because to Felix they were exactly that..This Family!After sometimes even I would forget there was ever  a just Crystal. Crysatl-n-Felix came as ai pair with one name.The love and happiness Crystal and the kids brought into Felix"s life can never be questioned because he wore it on his face every single day. I've seen them fall and get back up again. I've witnessed the strength and the growth in their relationship through out the years. In the end I can honestly say Felix  loved his wife as Christ loved the church.

My dad was the most selfless & caring man you could possibly meet, he constantly put EVERYONES needs before his 🥹 Watching the way he loved my mom as I grew up truly shaped my perception on love & showed me the type of love that I want. We love you FOREVER & I hope that we carry on your legacy to be patient, caring, and selfless like you. 🤍

Writing this is just so hard because i am not ready for a life without you. You were everything i could’ve ever wanted in a dad, the love you gave and showed us all the time will never be forgotten. Thank you for being Kash’s best friend he loves you so so much more than words can ever express. I wish Maisy got more time with you, more time to feel and see your love and proudness of being their papa. A piece of my heart left when you did, i love you daddy ❤️

Dearest Mr. Felix,
Though you are no longer with us on this side of Heaven, you left so many traces of your goodness and kindness to all people. You will never ever be forgotten. How could we ever forget a young man who would do anything for anybody? Oh how we loved seeing the sheer joy in your eyes as you worked at serving and doing for others.  You most likely did not know how to take time for yourself as you worked so diligently at being there for so many people. Those who really knew you, could see your heart that was so huge, so selfless, so giving. We are missing you so very much. Though you have left a huge void in our world and universe, we will fill this void with all the cherished memories we had with you. Memories that time can never steal or take away. Memories of a loving father who loved his family and grandchildren so very much. Memories of a young man who worked so very hard and did everything as though you were doing it for the Lord. Your memory and the great times we had together will remain forever etched in the crevices of our hearts and minds.

I am lucky to have some good Son n Laws. Felix will be missed. I will miss his visits. He would check up on me weekly and always helped on maintenance around the house.  He kept my 1988 Corvette running in good condition. I am Lucky to have him as a Son n Law and a good friend.

Bro, it’s hard to believe that you’re gone. I don’t even know what to say. I just want to say thank you for everything.

Thank you for always encouraging me, believing in me, and pushing me to do more than I thought I could. Thank you for your advice, your patience, and for always taking the time to help me. I’ll never forget your kindness.

I’ll always remember this one time visiting my Tia and Tio when Felix had just installed some new subwoofers into a car. My brother Adrian, my cousin Gabe, and I got into the car with my Tio all excited to hear how it sounded, and I just remember it being so cool hearing the bass thump and blast with us in the back seat and how everyone in the car was smiling, chilling, and jamming.

Although we only knew Felix for few years is as if we knew him for a lifetime. As his passing came as a shock. We worked side by side in different church functions. Felix always had a smile on his face. He was always so gentle, soft spoken and with such a sweet godly spirit. He certainly will be missed.

My heart breaks for the Velazquez family.  Felix and his family have been neighbors for about 12 years.  The love he had for his family was evident every single day.  Small acts of kindness that I witnessed, like going to get a coffee, pulling the car to the front door, spending time with his grandson.  Countless times I would see him in his driveway working on a car.  Felix always had a smile and a friendly wave hi.  You could tell his family was everything to him. 

Many prayers for your family as you navigate this journey of grief.  May you find comfort in Jesus and that you will see Felix again in heaven.
