Floy Marguerite Freeman passed away peacefully at home on the morning of April 16, 2026. She was surrounded with love by her daughter Laura and son-in-law Billy. She took her last breath as her daughter placed her hand on her Mother’s chest.
Floy was born on November 21, 1938, in Rapid City, South Dakota to proud parents, Roy and Helen Freeman. Floy’s unique name was given to her by using both of her grandmother’s first names. She loved God with all of her heart and had fond memories of being a part of The Salvation Army during her childhood years. Her favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Floy was a daughter, a Daddy's girl, a wife, a Mom, a Pepo, and a Gigi. She loved playing with stuffies and balloons with her great granddaughter, Hannah whom she would always call her little sweetheart. They became best buddies in the past few years. Floy was also an LVN and worked at Baptist Memorial hospital in San Antonio, Texas before moving to Houston.
Floy was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Helen Freeman, Grandmothers, Marguerite Hannah Winkler, and Floy Butler, Brother, Richard Freeman, and son-in-law Kenny Shaver.
She is survived by her daughters, Bernice Shaver, Laura Shaver and husband Billy, Grandchildren, Christopher Shaver and wife Josephine, Luke Shaver and wife Iliana, Grace Easley and husband Davis, Great Grandchildren, Addyson Shaver, Hannah Shaver, and Lilly Shaver.
Laura and Billy would like to say a special thank you to our son Christopher and his family, The Husfeld Family, Dr. Donna Shanks, Nurse Dee Dee, Allison, Christian, Molly, and Sienna Home Healthcare for 5 years of helping us with our Mom. We appreciate all of you so very much and as our Mom would always say “Thank you for you kindness”, “Que Sera Sera , Whatever Will Be Will Be”, and “God is in control”.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
