Shorty passed away peacefully Sunday morning, June the 8th. He was sitting on his couch watching a Gunsmoke rerun and getting ready for church.
Shorty was a union pipefitter his entire life. He was good at his job, and worked long hours to provide for his family. He spent the majority of his career working in the plants along the Houston ship channel.
He enjoyed sports tremendously. Football season was a cause for celebration. He loved High school sports and attended many games in Pasadena and in Katy.
Shorty moved to Katy in 2009. He began frequenting the Katy Senior Center for activities and field trips. It completely changed his life. He was active, happy and had many, many friends. The annual trip with the AARP was the highlight of his year.
He had a Saturday morning breakfast club of men from the Senior Center. They would sit at Sam’s Deli or Whataburger for hours and drink free coffee while telling stories and laughing. He was blessed by their friendship every week.
He was one of the happiest men on the planet. He went to be with Ann leaving a legacy of children who were raised right and friends who were richer for knowing him.
He will be missed.
