OBITUARY

Gabriel Paul Darnall

May 23, 1998September 2, 2019

The Darnall, Oriano, and Bradshaw families thank you for your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. Gabriel will be laid to rest with his celestial mother, Vicki Bradshaw, in a private family service on September 19, 2019. Celebrations of Gabriel’s life with friends and family are planned for Saturday, November 2, 2016 in Burlington, Iowa; and another will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at his home parish of St. Vincent de Paul in Austin, Texas.

Due to his illness, Gabriel was unable to eat during the last nearly 50 days of his short life. He struggled wanting to eat, and shared with us that being hungry was terrible. He also talked with us at length how touched he was by the many strangers who reached out to him, both personally and through social media. He was filled by their giving spirit.

To honor Gabriel, our families have established a memorial fund to help feed people in Houston who may not have enough to eat. We are partnering with our trusted friends, Reverend Nelson Rodriguez and his wife, Deaconess Perla Rodriguez, who personally oversee the Food Ministry at Iglesia Luterana Comunidad de Gracia. Through their efforts, nearly 1,000 hungry Houstonians are fed each month. Contributions in honor of Gabriel can be made by check or electronic bank transfer.

Checks can be mailed to: Iglesia Luterana Comunidad de Gracia 6601 Sherman St. Houston TX 77011 Please indicate “Gabriel Darnall Memorial Fund” in the memo portion

If an electronic transaction is preferred, it can be made to: Account Name: Iglesia Luterana Comunidad de Gracia Routing Number: 111000614 Account Number: 406500970
