Mom was born February 1, 1922 in Melbourne, Australia. She became a "war bride" when she met and married Charles (Pat) W. Hux who preceded her in death and to who Mom was an extraordinary wife and caregiver.
Mom was a wonderful Mother to her two sons Robert and Steven. Of her 89 years 60 were spent living in La Marque in the same house. After her sons "left the nest" she decided to work at Solomon Fabrics (Mom was a great seamstress). Many of her closest friends were made at Solomon's while working part time and the stories the ladies tell about working at the store are hilarious.
Mom loved life and people. She was a kind and caring person always giving to others. She loved working crossword puzzles and the trips to Louisiana with Florence, Florence’s daughter Jackie and son-in-law Mike. Her time spent with her dear friend Lynn was deeply cherished by Mom.
Mom's passing was with her constant companion "Missy" at her side to the end. Mom would take Missy with her no matter where she went carrying her in her "doggie" pouch that she wore just for the dog. Amazingly she was never asked to leave any establishment because workers and patrons enjoyed Missy (especially kids).
Mom could never thank Katherine Hux enough for the love and care she gave to her. Being a nurse she ended with the "Miss Care Giver" title. Mom loved her very much.
She is survived by her sons Robert C. Hux and his wife Katherine, Steven M. Hux and his wife Debbie. Her grandchildren are Randy Hux and his wife Patrice along with two daughters Sarah Ellen and Amanda Patrice, Ricky Hux and his wife Jessica and their two children Alexis and Landon, Melanie Hux Woytek and her husband Bart and their daughter Breanna, Chad Hux and his wife Susan, Autumn Hux Lee and her husband Derek.
