

After a life full of love, Gail Anne Hopper, 64, of Friendswood Texas passed away on January 15th, 2017. Gail was born in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts on December 10th, 1952.
Gail attended Hyde Park High School in Boston, then Syracuse University in Syracuse. She married Clark on August 7, 1988 and moved to Houston, Texas. Gail’s positive spirit touched the lives of so many friends as she raised her family in the Clear Lake area. In 2002, Gail and Clark moved to Benicia, California where they lived for five years. After that, they lived in Beaumont, Texas while Clark finished up his career at Valero. Gail and Clark moved to Friendswood in 2015 to be closer to her grandchildren, children, and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
She is preceeded in death by her parents Hyman and Shirley Finkel. Gail is survived by her husband of 28 years H. Clark Hopper. She is also survived by her four children Garrett Hopper, Michael and Randy Volkin, and Kimberly Thomas; Gail’s brother Leonard Finkel and five grandchildren: Matthew, Ryan, Sarah, Megan, and Kendall.
Gail’s courageous journey with ovarian cancer is admired by all. To honor Gail, visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598 on Thursday, January 19th at 2:00 p.m. A funeral will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a cause she admired: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
