George W. Horton

George W. Horton, 88, of Houston, Texas passed away September 2, 2013. He was born March 9, 1925 in North Zulch, Texas to Daniel Webster Horton and Allie Bertha Crouch Horton. He was a World War II Army Veteran. On February 28, 1947 he married Merle Allene Butler and they lived in Houston where they raised their two children. George was retired from Dresser Industries where he worked for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of Lawndale Church of Christ and in later years Southeast Church of Christ.

George was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Merle, in 2011. Survivors include his daughter, Pamela Coan; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Cynthia Horton; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2013 at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013 in the Chapel at Forest Park East Funeral Home with interment to follow.
