George Ellis Reel

George Ellis Reel passed away on 08/05/2011 at 10:36 p.m., to be with his loving wife Hazel Charles Reel in heaven. But to everyone that knew him, he was Ellis Reel and nobody called him George. Ellis (Daddy) was born to Howard Ollie Reel on 03/31/1926 in Longview, Texas. Ellis has one sister, Margaret Orendorff of Linden Texas.

Ellis is the father of three children, daughter Janie Smith of Seabrook, Texas and two sons, Ron Reel of New York City, New York, and Charles Reel of Seabrook, Texas. Ellis was (Papa, Grandpa) to 8 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces.

Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Reel, parents, Howard and Ollie Reel, sister Bonnie McClendon, grandchild Duffy Kyle Smith, great great grandchild Lizzie Smith.

Ellis was a firefighter for over 40 years, a Fire Instructor at Texas A&M Fire School, Fire Marshall and City Inspector for the City of Seabrook, Police Officer in Seabrook and Nassau Bay. He was one of the first to arrive when where needed and one of the last to leave. We thought Dad lived in his bunker gear and police uiform. Boy could he ever put out a fire. Dad either had a fire hose in his hand or a pistol.

Dad you just don't know how many people you have touched thru your time on earth. Dad you were loved so much by your family and by the people that met you and called you as a friend and you never met a stranger.
