Gerald was in the United Stated Marine Corps—part of a recon force during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he married Margrett Ann Conner and became a Pipefitter for 43 years with Ethyl-Albemare before retirement. Gerald came out of retirement and worked as a boilermaker with J.V. Piping and Various companies at the end of his professional career.
Gerald was a member of Pipefitters Local Union 211 for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting for sport and collecting Marine Corps memorabilia.
He is preceded in death by his wife Margrett Woods and two daughters Janety Lane Woods and Karen Elizabeth Woods.
Left to cherish his memory is his son Brian (Linda) Woods, one brother Lester Woods, one granddaughter Ashley Woods and two great grandchildren Karen and Wesley.
