Geraldine C. Dixon, 87, died peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2015. She was born November 21, 1927 in Houston, Texas and married Robert D. Dixon on October 14, 1952. Geraldine devoted her life to her family, and later, to a successful career in childcare. Beginning with a job at Humpty Dumpty Day Care, and culminating with a private day care in her home, Geraldine was known as “Mama Dixon” to two generations of children. She was a beloved figure to “her kids” in the Sagemont area. She also pursued an active interest in genealogy as a hobby for many years, doing much work for many in her extended family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 25 years, Robert D. Dixon, and son, Daniel Wayne Dixon. Geraldine is survived by her son David Keith Dixon, daughter-in-law Jean Sengele Dixon, granddaughter Julia Dixon, and her two beloved sisters, Tommie Jean Elliott and Mimie Taylor. Chapel and graveside services were conducted by Brother John Morgan at Forest Park East cemetery on May 19, 2015.
