

Giovanna was born on October 7, 1965, in Ragusa, Italy, to Vincenzo Floridia and Antonietta Floridia. She shared an extraordinary love story with the love of her life, Luciano Castro. They met as teenagers and spent 47 beautiful years together, including 40 years of marriage. Their love was a true testament to commitment, friendship, and unwavering devotion.
Giovanna dedicated her career to caring for others as a medical assistant. Helping people was more than a profession—it was her calling. She had a compassionate heart and always put others before herself; offering kindness, comfort, and encouragement wherever life took her.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved bringing everyone together, filling every room with laughter, dancing whenever she had the chance, and creating cherished memories with those she loved most. Some of her happiest moments were spent in the pool with her grandchildren, making memories they will treasure forever. Her warm smile, contagious laugh, generous spirit, and ability to make everyone feel welcome were gifts that touched countless lives.
Giovanna was preceded in death by her father, Vincenzo Floridia; her niece, Stefania Bertolotti; Salvatore D’Angelo; Vincenzo D’Angelo; Grace Maltese; Giovanni Floridia; Maurino Floridia; Giuseppe Floridia; Salvatore Floridia; Concetta Floridia; Emanuella Floridia; Toni Lentini; Giorgio Lentini; Giorgio Floridia; and many other beloved family members who welcomed her into eternal peace.
She is survived by her loving mother, Antonietta Floridia; her devoted husband of 40 years, Luciano Castro; her son, Giuseppe Castro, his wife, Cristi Castro, and their daughters, Marley, Francesca, and Colbie Jo; along with her daughter, Domenica Stefania Castro and her husband, Jason Gomez, and their children, Jovanni and Ellianna; her sister, Nella Bertolotti, husband, Stefano Bertolotti; her niece, Loredana Gore, and sons, Anthony and Stefano Gore; as well as many cherished relatives and countless friends whose lives were forever touched by her love and kindness.
To know Giovanna was to love her. She had a remarkable gift for making people laugh, bringing family and friends together, and making everyone feel like they belonged. She celebrated life’s simple moments, loved deeply, and gave endlessly. Her kindness, strength, generosity, and beautiful spirit left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her love, laughter, and legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and every life she touched. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
