Giovanni "JuJu" Lee Garza

JuJu was born just before the New Year, on December 30, 2015 in Edinburg, TX to Leonte “Leo” and Guadalupe “Lupita” (Gonzalez) Garza. He is the youngest son of four children; younger brother to Jordan Fabian Garza and Armando “Ito” Leonidas Garza and older brother to Aaliyah Sophia Garza.

He was an incredibly smart young man who was fascinated by ocean life—especially sharks and blue whales. He was also captivated by different languages, often learning the different words to identify his favorite creatures. He briefly attended Whitcomb Elementary School where he was a student in Miss Kaplan’s kindergarten class. Giovanni’s personality was sweet and bold. He knew what he liked and he would not hesitate to bring it to your attention. Some of his favorite movies included The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, and Finding Dory; but he truly enjoyed the Disney short film “Lava” which he would sing along with. He liked soccer and spending time with his siblings playing, never allowing his diagnosis stop him from appreciating each day he was given. JuJu was also quite the dancer, he would bounce and sing along with his favorite songs and bring joy to those around him.

Giovanni will be remembered by his parents Leo & Lupita Garza; siblings Jordan, Ito and Aaliyah; grandparents Leonte & Leticia Garza and Eva & Armando Villegas; Uncles and Aunts Norberto & sol Ruiz Garza, Mario Garza & Denise Garcia, Veronica Garza and Rigoberto Arreguin, and Angel Cruz Gonzalez. Also surviving are his cousins Jeraid, Bela, Juliana, Jeremiah and Katalea.

Under the Sea services for Giovanni will be Sunday, July 24, 2022 with visitation beginning at 2:00 PM and funeral services to follow at 6:00 PM. We welcome you to wear your favorite colorful clothing, just like the colorful sea life JuJu loved so much.
