

She was born in 1924 in Lee County to the late Willie and Erma Niemtschk.
In 1940 she married the late James E. Harris They were married for 46 years until his death in 1986. Gladys was a devoted wife and mother, a great cook and a prolific gardener. She loved flowers and took great pride in her tomatoes.
Gladys is survived by three children: Margaret Ayoub of Buda, Texas, Jim Harris of Bayou Vista, Texas and Kathy Warren of Magnolia, Texas. She is also survived by two sisters: Ruby Coutorie of Houston, Texas and Pearl Kieffer of Montgomery, Louisiana, and sister in-law: Louise Niemtschk. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Her family also includes numerous nieces and nephews. And her friends are countless. She loved her family dearly and they all will miss her presence in their lives.
While living in Deer Park she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pasadena, Texas for many years.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at 3:00pm also at Forest Park East Funeral Home, with Brother Jim Turpin to officiate. Interment to follow in Forest Park East Cemetery.
