In January 2026, Gloria was diagnosed with breast cancer, and after months of courageous endurance and steadfast grace, she lost her battle with cancer on October 4, 2026. Gloria Edna Morgan was born on August 9, 1940, Gloria’s life was marked by steady devotion—to her family, to her faith, and to the values she carried faithfully through every season of life. A longtime resident of Porter, Texas, she leaves behind a legacy rooted in love, reverence, and the quiet strength of always being there when she was needed.
A woman of faith, Gloria taught her children to love the Lord and to respect God's teachings. With loyal constancy, she also taught them to study hard, work hard, and “be somebody”—lessons offered not only with words, but with the example of her own life. She found deep joy in cooking, and the care she poured into meals for her family was one of the many ways she made home a place of comfort and belonging.
In 1969, the family moved to Friendswood, where Gloria lovingly raised her children until 2000, when she and Preston later moved to Porter, Texas to retire.
Gloria shared a long and loving marriage with her husband, Preston David Morgan Jr. They were married in April 1958 and remained devoted to one another until his death on April 7, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Scott Clark Sr., who passed in February 2023.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Denise Morgan; her son, Preston David Morgan III and his wife Mindi Morgan; her grandchildren, Cameron David Morgan and Stephen Ray Skaggs; and her great-grandsons, Joshua Scott Clark Jr., Jason Alexander Clark, and Joseph David Clark, with Lori Clark as their mother; sister Stella Green and her husband Larry Green.
The family would like to thank her home health nurses Jessica and Cindy, and her hospice nurses, for the endless comfort and care they provided. Their presence and compassion meant more than words can express.
Visitation will be held at Mary Queen Catholic Church, located at 606 Cedarwood Drive in Friendswood, Texas on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the Rosary at 11:30 am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm. And a Committal Service will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas.
