Gloria Joyce Trapani O’Donohoe, age 94 of La Marque, Texas, passed away on August 30, 2026 after a lengthy battle with dementia. She was born in Galveston, Texas on May 13, 1932 to Hettie and Frank Trapani, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Denise Correll and Julie (Alan) Petty, grandsons, Kevin Correll, Brian Correll, and Ross Petty, granddaughters, Tara (Scott) Sanders and Lisa (Thomas) Salinas, great-grandson Rowan Sanders, great-granddaughter Estella Olivarez, and brothers, Lloyd (Carol) Trapani, Robert Trapani, Billy (Brenda) Trapani, and Anthony George (Nancy) Trapani.
Gloria graduated from Ball High School, attended nursing school, and became a nurse. She worked for John Sealy Hospital in Galveston in the children's burn unit. She later became a stay-at-home mom to her three daughters.
Gloria loved walking, reading the Bible, and going to church. She always sang Christian songs in the kitchen while doing dishes and loved listening to The Platters and The Nutcracker Ballet on LP records. She also enjoyed helping out with the preparation of the communion at church and baking sweets.
Gloria was always very kind, caring, and sincere. She was a strong Christian and an excellent listener! She was also very giving of her time and support. Every year she would sew matching Easter dresses for her three daughters and wore the same navy blue dress for herself. She wanted her daughters to learn how to read music, so she encouraged them to enroll in Band and paid for their private lessons. When her daughters expressed a desire to learn how to dance, she enrolled them in dance classes.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Hettie and Frank Trapani, Jr., her husband, Raymond O’Donohoe, her daughter, Michelle O’Donohoe, her sisters, Mae Wheeler, Marie Robinson, Shada Adams, and Betty Cotera and her brothers Frank Trapani III, and Ray Trapani.
