Hattie Jo O'Briant
December 5, 1936 – July 13, 2020
Hattie Jo (Wishert) O’Briant, age 83 years of League City, Texas, passed into Heaven surrounded by her loving family to be with her beloved husband, Thomas Edward O’Briant, whom proceeded her on August 13, 2014.
Hattie Jo loved and supported her high school sweetheart and husband, Edward, during their 57 years of marriage. She adored her four children and cherished the time and attention of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hattie Jo was a wonderful person who prided herself on being the consummate homemaker. She was proud to be the 11th child and youngest daughter of 12 children born into a hard-working German/Texas farm family in Columbus, Texas. May she forever be in peace and memorialized with untold love.
Hattie Jo joins in Heaven her parents, Willie Max and Hattie Louise (Wied) Wishert, and brothers, Louis Wishert, George Wishert, Robert Wishert, A. R. Wishert, Willie Wishert and sisters, Irene (Wishert) Giesie, Adele (Wishert) Giesie, and Ethel (Wishert) Nelson.
Hattie Jo is survived by daughters, Debra O’Briant of League City, Texas, and Karen (O’Briant) Nevelow and husband Craig of Austin, Texas, and sons, William O’Briant and wife Pamela of LaPorte, Texas, and Keith O’Briant of League City, Texas.
Grandchildren, Vanessa Lile and husband Terry, Michelle Lamb and fiancé Cian Thomas, Ryan Nevelow, Chad Nevelow and fiancé Kaitlyn Milner, Meagan O’Briant and partner Michelle Mele, Shannon Zuniga and husband Victor, Cameron O’Briant and fiancé Alexis Aubert.
Great-grandchildren, Hannah and Haylee Lile, Mason and Madison Howard, Callahan Thomas, Layla and Thomas Zuniga, Cameron O’Briant, and Troy Mele.
Hattie Jo is also survived by sisters, Esther (Wishert) Fitzgerald of Lane City, Texas, and Dorothy (Wishert) Ziober of Wharton, Texas, and brother, James Wishert of Brazoria, Texas, and brother and sisters-in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hattie Jo’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Monday, August 3rd at 10:00AM in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas. Immediately following, she will be laid to rest at Forest Park East Cemetery.
