Horace Monroe Ashabranner, 84, died on May 17, 2013. Horace was born at home in Burnet , Texas, on Sep. 4, 1928, to Hiram Thomas (“Tom”) Ashabranner and Vivian Merle Davis. He was a fifth-generation Texan.
Horace served twenty-one months in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. He went on to become a successful homebuilder in the greater Houston area where he founded and ran his own company, Trendex Homes.
Horace is survived by his children: Tom Ashabranner and wife Marti, Don Ashabranner and wife Lisa, Clair Berno and husband Mike. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Horace was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years (Eileen), as well as two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Stuart Solomon for the compassionate care he has given to both Horace and Eileen over the past twenty years.
