Huey Edward Carroll, lovingly known as "Ed," transitioned from this life peacefully on November 23, 2023, in his cherished home in League City, Texas. Born on January 7, 1952, in Dermott, Arkansas, Ed was the beloved son of Huey and Faye Carroll, who preceded him in death. He is survived by a multitude of friends and family who cherished him dearly.
Ed is survived by his devoted spouse of 41 years, Charlene "Charlie" Carroll. His legacy continues through his children: Shannon Carroll and John Carroll; stepchildren: James Ehlers and Kristie Brown; and his beloved grandchildren: Savanna Brown, Gavyn Brown, and Alex Carroll. He is also survived by several sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law who held him close in their hearts.
Ed's life was marked by service, beginning with his dedication to the US Air Force during the Vietnam War era, where he also demonstrated his prowess as a skilled boxer. Post-military service, he contributed significantly to his work with Brown & Root Construction and later joined his spouse where he served as the Director of Operations at Affinity Home Health Care.
A man of diverse passions, Ed was a multifaceted individual from his talent as a basketball player in high school, for which he received multiple college scholarships. In his leisure time he enjoyed his boat, "Reel Busy," which stood as a testament to his love for fishing. He was an avid bowhunter for big game and cherished his lifetime membership to Texas Trophy Hunters. He loved to build and race muscle cars in his former years. He won his seat in the World Series of Poker which showcased his competitive spirit. His zest for life knew no bounds.
An accomplished storyteller, Ed regaled friends and family with tales from his vibrant life, captivating all who had the pleasure of listening. His generous spirit and willingness to assist others endeared him to all he encountered, be it family, colleagues, or professionals along his journey.
Ed's legacy lives on through the love he shared with his family, the lessons he imparted, and the memories he leaves behind. His absence will be deeply felt, especially by his spouse, children and grandchildren.
As Ed embarks on his spiritual journey, may he be surrounded by peace and eternal love. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him. Farewell, Honey, Papa, Dad and Friend.
