Irene dedicated 25 years of service to the Pasadena ISD tax office, retiring in 1993 to spend more time with her family, splitting her days between her home in Pasadena and the family farm in Hallettsville. She was a devoted member of St. Pius V Catholic Church in Pasadena and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville, embodying a deep faith that guided her throughout her life.
Family was the cornerstone of Irene’s world. She never missed a ball game for her grandchildren or great grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as MeeMaw. Her immense love for sports made her a loyal fan of the Houston Astros, Texans, and Rockets, for which she rarely missed watching a game. She had a passion for gardening and working in the yard all the way up to her passing day, always sharing the bounty of her garden with family and friends. Above all, she loved serving her family, always putting their needs before her own and offering unwavering love and support.
