Jack Clarke Quinn was born in Ganado, Texas on October 31, 1930. He was raised in Ganado, Texas for the first few years of his life. He then moved to Pasadena, and then to Almeda, Texas. He graduated from Missouri City High School in 1949 as Salutatorian. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army.
He was an avid mechanic in his early years of employment and then proceeded to work for Brazos River Authority and Gulf Coast Water Authority for 30 plus years until he retired in 1995. Jack and Opal completed their retirement and moved to Angleton, Texas in 1994. Jack’s main love was his family. He loved traveling with family and friends. In his early years, he loved to go square dancing with his beloved wife Opal and daughters Jackie and Renee. He was all about the next family get together. Jack had a fun-loving personality and was always laughing and joking with others. Horse racing, traveling, reading Texas Parks and Wildlife and Texas Highways magazines, and working word search puzzle books were just to name a few of his hobbies.
Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Opal Quinn; father, Joseph Richard Quinn and mother, Lucy Elma Devers Quinn; and brother, Joe Henry Quinn.
He will be deeply missed by his sister, Mattie Lee Quinn; sons, Gary Smith, Ronnie Smith and wife, Oletha; daughters, Jackie Wilson and husband Terry, Renee Oddo; Dorothy Murray and husband A.L.; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren: 3 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm with a funeral service to follow at 1:30 pm. Committal service will follow at South Park Cemetery in Pearland.
