Jacqueline Marie (Parker) Wilson, 95, a longtime resident of Pearland, Texas, went to join her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2023. She had relocated to Arkansas with her son’s family in the summer of 2022 and commented about Arkansas: “This is a beautiful place to die.” She was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on September 11, 1927, to Chester Edward Parker and Elsie Jane Grable Parker.
She lived in the St. Louis area with her parents and two brothers until joining other family members in the Houston, Texas area in 1938. Her parents settled in Pasadena, Texas where she completed school. Through her father, she met Douglas Wilson. Her father was quite impressed with him and her family helped him convalesce from a motorcycle accident. They became good friends and he traveled to Missouri with her parents and brother Tom, to propose while she was visiting her grandmother. They were married on June 14, 1946. They were married until the time of his death in July, 2002.
Jackie was the typical housewife of her generation and took pride in taking care of her family and house. They were members of Sunset Methodist Church in Pasadena and once they moved to Pearland, they became members of the First United Methodist Church in Pearland. There she served in various capacities with the choir, her Sunday school classes other activities.
After her two sons had grown, her sister-in-law encouraged her to get out of the house, and she became a dental assistant, working with various dentists in the Pasadena area. After Doug passed away, she moved to Country Place in Pearland where she quickly made friends with neighbors on her street. There she met and developed a strong friendship with Leonard Meinke.
Two of her biggest passions were photography and genealogy research. She has left a wonderful photo legacy of her children and grandchildren to her family. She also became an avid genealogy researcher and left behind many volumes of information she was able to discover. Through these research endeavors, she traveled to various states to locate lost ancestors and met distant relatives with whom she shared the results of her research. She also loved gardening and doing whatever she could to help maintain the various houses she and Doug owned. Together they enjoyed several years as members of two old car clubs.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Doug Wilson in 2002, her parents Chester and Elsie Parker and her brothers Thomas Parker and Robert Parker.
She is survived by her son Ronald Wilson and, wife, Rose; son Jerry Wilson and wife, Patty; step-son Larry Wilson and wife, Carol; grandchildren: Ty Wilson and wife Diane; Brett Wilson and wife Jill; Cari Brownlee and husband Neal; Clint Wilson; Trevor Wilson and wife Courtney; Lyndsey Wilson; Nicole Wilson; Christen Pearson and husband Eric; great-grandchildren: Cade Wilson, Makenna Wilson, Tristan Wilson, Natalie Wilson, Brianne Brownlee, Christian Wilson, Ty Geoffrey Wilson, Abigail Brownlee, Emily Brownlee, Finley Wilson, Victoria Wilson, Jacqueline Pearson, Hannah Wilson and Reagan Pearson.
