

Margaret Jacquelyn "Jackie" Simons, 68, of Pasadena, Texas passed away on July 5, 2021. Jackie was born in Houston, Texas on October 6, 1952 to Oliver and Margaret Weeks. She grew up in Houston and attended Marian High School. She spent most of her life working in Houston. Jackie was married to Stanley E. Simons for 9 years, and then Larry M. Cavazos for 23 years. Jackie put her devotion and need to help others into her work with MHMRA for a few years and then SEARCH Homeless Services for over 15 years.
She was an avid reader, loved poetry, music, and art. She received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston – Downtown. In her younger years, she rode horseback, and she loved to dance. Jackie was a very kindhearted person with a beautiful smile. Larry and Jackie would love to watch movies, spend game nights with friends, and go on country drives. Jackie loved to cook and enjoyed date night at Olive Garden! Jackie moved to Pasadena, Texas a year before she passed away.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Tony, Angelo, and Michael Weeks.
She is survived by her husband Larry Cavazos and 3 sons; Bruce (Diana), Brian (Dahlia), and Brad (Mehlia) Simons; 5 grandchildren; and her brothers Stephen and John (Janna) Weeks; sister Gerri Flynt (Thomas, deceased); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Forest Park East Funeral Home from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers please send donations to SEARCH Homeless Services.
