James Esparza

James Esparza, age 58, was a beloved husband, father and brother who went to be with the lord on May 15, 2022. James was born in Houston, Texas on February 19, 1964 to Ernest V. and Josefina G. Esparza, being the youngest child of four. He is a graduate alumni of Stephen F. Austin High School where he was a member of the Auto Mechanics Club. During his school days he enjoyed listening to rock music, fishing, and driving fast cars as an owner of a 1957 Chevy Bel air, 1962 Chevy Nova, and a 1969 Dodge Rambler.

James was a second generation brick mason. After graduation, he worked for many years alongside his father. He later ventured out and started his own construction business where he successfully ran it for over 30 years.

James was a loving husband and an amazing father. His relationship with his spouse, Elvia of 31 ½ years was one of steadfast love and devotion. He became a proud father ever since Cain was born. Although he was unable to attend the graduation, he was ecstatic and absolutely beaming when Cain graduated from the University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering, May 14, 2022. James was able to view the graduation ceremony stream live and cheered for him when he walked across the stage to receive his degree!

His hobbies include salt-water fishing and falling asleep while watching the cooking channel.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest V. Esparza and Josefina G. Esparza, brother Ruben Alejandro Esparza.

He is survived by his spouse, Elvia Lopez Esparza and son, James Cain Esparza, brother Ernest Jr, and spouse Gracelita, Ruben’s spouse Rosemary and sister, Joyce Esparza Yamada. He will be remembered by leaving special memories among his nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and business acquaintances.

A visitation for James will be held Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10:30 am and a committal service to follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Esparza family.
