James T. Rivers, 72, of Houston, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018. He was born in Waco, Texas on February 12, 1946 to James T. Winterbauer and Virginia Lee Webb. He was married to Wanda R. Rivers for 35 years. Jim had a career as a Power Plant Supervisor for Texas Petro Chemicals. He worked in his own business Benefits Compensation Specialists, PLLC, along with his wife Wanda and Floyd Howard for 15 years.
He was a proud member of the US Army serving in Vietnam. His passions in life were Jesus, flying, nature and most of all his family. He loved his family dearly. Jim was a private pilot instructor and has been flying since he was 14 years old. He was a member of the Northfork Homeowners Association for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by father, James T. Winterbauer and brother, Don Winterbauer.
He is survived by Mother, Virginia Lee Webb; wife, Wanda Rivers; daughters, Stephanie Price and Kim Eade; son, Jeffrey (Amanda) Embrey; grandchildren, TSGT Ryan (Joanna) Wooley, Amanda Saulsberry, PO 3rd Class Taylor Price, Billy Price, Lauren Caldwell, Brandi Burk, Daniel and Sara Embrey; great-grandchildren, Sienna and Zoe Wooley, Jack Caldwell, Ashton and Addison Saulsberry; brothers, Philip, Gary, Keith, Charles and Don; aunt, Carol Webb; many cousins and many great friends.
A visitation for Jim will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A funeral service will occur Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with a committal service to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
