Jean C. Motway

Jean C. Parrell Motway, 90, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on Sunday, June 20th, 2021. She was born in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania on March 10, 1931, to Anthony and Caroline Parrell. Jean moved to Clear Lake City, TX in 1966. After raising her daughters, Jean accepted a position at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in 1979. During her 29 years at JSC, she proudly supported the Space Shuttle Program.

Jean was proceeded in death by her parents Anthony and Caroline Parrell, a brother Nick and sisters Carrie, Florence, and Josephine.

She leaves behind a loving family that includes her daughter Donna Mays (husband-the late Jack Mays), her daughter Diane Runte (husband Jim Runte and grandsons Jake and Cutter), and her daughter Deborah Poinsett (husband Brad Poinsett) along with many nieces and nephews.

Jean’s family wishes to thank Rusty and the amazing staff at Serenity Gardens in Dickinson, TX for their loving kindness, tenderness and care they showed their mother the past 5 years. No words can express our profound gratitude to all of you. You are truly family.

Even though she was small in stature, she had an amazing capacity for compassion and love. While a light has dimmed in our hearts here on earth, heaven is surely rejoicing at her homecoming.
