Jerry Wong Lowe left us Sunday, February 24, 2013 to join his wife, Mary Chan Wong. He was born December 7, 1925 in Canton, China and came to the United States at the age of 12. Growing up in San Francisco, California, he worked as a mechanic with an aviation company and a private individual and later as a goldsmith. After marrying, they opened Wessley Cleaners. In 1950, they came to Houston and shortly partnered in a grocery store. In 1952 they ventured on their own and opened Fairland Food Market and late Fairland Apartments. After retirement in the late 70’s, they travelled extensively all over the world. He is survived by his son, Wessley Wong and wife Janice, daughter, Wanda Reyna and husband, Carl, daughter, Wilma Hand; six beloved grandchildren, Dana Hernandez and husband, Anthony, Brandi Hennessey, Kenna Wong, Aaron Reyna and wife, Jessica, Saysha Mei and husband, John, Samantha Hand; three amazing great-grandchildren, Dezirae and Jake Mei and Grayson Reyna.
