Dr. Jimmie C.R. Forehand, P.h.D

Jimmie was born March 10, 1934 in Chillicothe (Hardeman County) Texas to Cecil Drew and Nancy Reba Simmons Forehand. He was baptized April 7, 1949, into the Church of Christ. He graduated from high school at Colorado City, Tx in 1952.

He joined the Marines after high school and went to Texas A&M in College Station, Tx. He obtained his Bachelors in Mathematics in 1959; Masters of Science in 1965 and his Doctors of Science in 1975. He married his much loved wife, Sally Ann Rusterholz on July 19, 1956. Jimmie was considered one of the last Computer Science Wizards.

After working for Douglas Aircraft in Culver City, CA. he spent 25 years as a Computer Analyst at TAMU. Then he was a Computer Analyst for the city of Miami, Fl. Followed by being a consultant for Aramco in Saudi Arabia. Next, he was a consultant for McDonald-Douglas and then Lockheed-Martin. The rest of his career was spent at NASA in the Avionics System Division with the ISS as his main work. He was also an honorary crew of the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S Enterpise, a Reserve Officer in the USAF, and most importantly, a strong family man. Jimmie became a lifetime member of the VFW and NRA as well as the Captain of the Motor Yacht Cindy L. and the Sailing Vessel Lauren A.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Sarah Ann, brother; Chelsey Drew Forehand and sister; Emily Jane Cooke.

Survivors are wife, Sally Ann of home, sons; William Forehand and wife Carla of College Station, Tx., Craig Forehand, David Forehand and Travis Forehand all of El Lago, Tx., daughter; Patricia Scott and husband Joe Scott of St. Louis, Mo., sisters; Norma Turner of Tucson, Ar., Mary Ann Huse and husband Billy of Chillicothe, Tx., Faith Salfen and husband Mac; bother Foy Forehand, along with 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Road, on Thursday, January 19, 2012 under the direction of Forest Park East Funeral Home.
