Joanna "Jo" Lee Chambers

She was born January 9, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Henry Clay and Emma Pauline (Ballard) Newman.

Jo had a career in telecommunications as a trainer and later as training manager. She was employed by Fisk Telephone Systems in Houston and Centel in Austin. Jo was a successful entrepreneur, starting Tel-Com Training Systems and Chambers-Welke Video Productions, both in Houston. Jo spent her latter years in Albuquerque, New Mexico, employed by Verizon Federal at Sandia National Labs, where she retired in 2007.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Clay Newman and Emma Pauline (Ballard) Newman of Tomball, her half-brother Billy Colbert of Houston, and her sister, Judith Carole Lankford of Tomball.

She is survived by her daughter Kelli Walker Martinez and son in law Frank Martinez, her grand children Austin, Samantha, Jennifer and Gabriella, and her great-grand children Brooklyn, A.J., Wyatt, Alastair, and Reveille.
