John Wayne Robinson, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loyal husband of Beatrice Glover-Robinson, loving father to Ryan Robinson, father-in-law to Leah Robinson and caring granddad to Grace, Clara, Elliott, and Everly Robinson, and Pawpaw to James Ryan and Jonathan Perry, and Dustin and Hannah.
John Wayne was born on May 20, 1945, in Appomattox, Virginia and lived a fulfilling and blessed life. He was not only a devoted family man but also known for his passion for hot rod cars, a love for riding mules, and an unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.
His love for hot rod cars was more than a hobby; it was a true passion that he shared with friends and fellow enthusiasts. Whether he was under the hood, at a car show, or simply talking about his favorite cars, John's enthusiasm was infectious. His knowledge and dedication to the world of classic cars left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In addition to his love for cars, John had a unique fondness for the simple joys of life. He cherished his time riding mules, a passion he took on from his mother. He was the president and trail boss of the Trail Rider’s of the Bandera Hill Country for many years, and often took trips through picturesque New Mexico and Colorado, finding tranquility and solace in the company of these steadfast creatures.
Perhaps JW's most defining trait was his unwavering willingness to help others. He was always the first to lend a hand or provide support when it was needed most. His selflessness touched the lives of many, and his legacy of kindness will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
John Wayne's greatest joy in life was his family. He found immense happiness while surrounded by them and was fully engaged with his grandkids. His family was the center of his world, and his presence will be deeply missed in their lives. He also loved his mother and two younger sisters, Lunette Kibby and Charlotte Yastic.
John Wayne Robinson lived a life filled with love, passion, and generosity. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit lives on in the love and memories he shared with his family and friends.
A visitation will be held September 7th from 4-6pm and a memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held on September 8th at 10am, both at Forest Park East in Webster, TX. Flowers are welcome, or as an alternate, donations can be made to Trailriders of the Bandera Hill Country c/o Tracey Deupree 6045 Old Reliance Road, Bryan, TX 77808.
