Joyce Ann Aulds

A lifelong resident of the Houston area, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Prentice Oliver Emerson and Anna Louise Heffernan, stepfather Oscar Goodrum, brother Ernest Emerson, grandson Douglas Vybiral and her loving husband, Ralph Aulds, Sr.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the glue to her immediate and extended family. She never missed an opportunity to host gatherings of family and friends on holidays and special occasions. She was a woman of faith, wit and great humor. She enjoyed reading, travel (especially to Las Vegas!) and spending time with her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her four children, Amy Vybiral and her husband Raymond, Ralph Aulds, Jr. and his wife Sharon, Lisa Burton and her husband Mark, and Patrick Aulds. In addition, her brother Prentice “Pokey” Emerson and sister Lucille “Toodie” Watson mourn her passing. Her grandchildren include Stephanie (Jonathan) Boulos, Blake (Angela) Aulds, Brooke (Luke) Mullen, Sean (Sabrina) Lowe, Allison (Michael) Smith, and Carter Aulds. Great grandchildren are Benjamin Lowe, Olivia Lowe, Jett Boulos, Brixton Aulds, Amelia Mullen and Wyatt Smith. She will be missed by numerous other family members and friends.

On the night her husband, Ralph passed, she held his hand and said, “Save a place for me in Heaven.” We take comfort in knowing that they are together, again, in Paradise.
