

He was born in Charleston, West Virginia on September 7, 1951 to Kenneth Alfred and Ora Margaret Keener.
Roger graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1969 as an honors student and Varsity Baseball player. He began his career at Elk Valley Motor Express. Roger joined DuPont (Invista) in 1978 where he worked as a chemical operator until his retirement in 2019. Roger’s 41 year career with DuPont took him across the country and around the world.
When not working, Roger enjoyed building his own computer, doing home improvement projects, and golf. From zoo visits, hibachi dinners, throwing baseballs, and adopting dogs, the time Roger spent with his daughter, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren brought Roger joy.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ora Margaret Keener, his father Kenneth Alfred Keener, and his sister Karen Kay Stone.
He is survived by Zhenzhu Luo (Lola) his wife of 31 years, by his daughter Stephanie Mayo, by grandchildren Nathaniel Roger Mayo and Jocelyn Ann Mayo, by his first wife Stephanie’s mother Jo Ann Keener, and by his nephews and nieces Franklin Christopher Stone, Melissa Stone Minjarez, Roger Delano Stone, and Menglu Wu.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Friday, September 27, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
A funeral service will occur Friday, September 27, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
A graveside service will occur Friday, September 27, 2024 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
