Laura Louise Crabtree, 100, died December 29, 2011. She was born October 5, 1911, in Blanche, Tennessee, to parents John Wesley and Laura Cleo Rowell. One of ten children, she is survived by two sisters, Sarah Walsh and Nadine Jackson, both of Florida, and two brothers, Leo Rowell of Tennessee, and Fred Rowell of Fredericksburg, Texas; two daughters, Patricia Scarbrough and Sue Gilbert, both of Houston; three grandchildren, Laura Rice, Stephen Scarbrough, and Stacy Scarbrough; and four great-grandchildren: Rhett and Madeleine Lorfing, and Wyatt and Tyler Scarbrough. Louise was preceded in death in 1990 by her husband, Robert Lloyd Crabtree. A resident of Houston for the past six years, Louise lived in La Marque, Texas, for over 50 years. Her interests included scouting, reading, her love for baseball, the Houston Astros and in later years, her great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 31st between 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., followed by a gravesite service at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery.
