Leonor Coreas, 86, of Houston, Texas passed away on November 27, 2021. Leonor was born in San Miguel, El Salvador on March 24, 1935 to Leonides Enriques and Leonor Coreas. Leonor was raised by her mother in Usulutan, El Salvador.
After Leonor reached the third grade in primary school, she went on to work at her mother's store. Along with working beside her mother, she also worked for some time in a thread factory. In 1986, she traveled to San Francisco from El Salvador where she then worked in maintenance. God came first in Leonor’s life above all things. God was such a big part of Leonor’s life, that there was not one Saturday that she was not in the Lord's house. She devoted herself to God and to work to provide for her daughters. In 1991 she was reunited with two of her daughters, Levi Aricela and Gloria Elizabeth. In 1993, Leonor moved with her two daughters to Houston, Texas where she resided until her time of passing. Leonor loved teaching God's word to her children as well as her grandchildren and anyone who would stand in front of her and willing to listen.
She was a very simple, humble, and loving person. She had such a big heart for so many people. She could also be forgetful at times. One day as she was in the doctor's office, and Levi stepped out, so she called Gloria from her personal phone, and said “Mija, can you give me your phone number? The doctor is asking for a phone number and I don't know your number,” all the while she had Gloria’s number stored in her phone as she was calling her. It’s memories like these that her family will always remember and cherish. Things she did in her free time were first and foremost prayer and bible study, and also sewing, she loved sewing her own dresses.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Adela Coreas and her mother Leonor Coreas.
She will be deeply missed by her sister Concepcion Coreas; daughter Elvia Lucia Coreas de Elena and husband Orlando Elena, daughter Levi Aricela Saldana and her husband Jorge Saldana, daughter Gloria Vasquez and husband Douglas Vasquez; grandchildren Nelvin Elena, Edgar Elena, Karina Elena, Michael Coreas, Genesis Vasquez, Jorge Saldana, Jr., Jacob Saldana, Esmeralda Vasquez, and Joshua Saldana; great-grandchildren Marcela Elena, Damian Elena, Sebastian Alexander Elena Ramirez, and Mariana Alexandra Elena Guzman.
