Lillian grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and in early adulthood, while working in a candy shop, met the love of her life, a handsome sailor who had just joined the Coast Guard and ultimately retired as a Commander. They married on July 8, 1941 and had a beautiful life until his passing in 1994. During their marriage, Lillian became very active in the Propeller Wives Club, a group of military wives who served their community in charitable outreach. But Lillian is best known for her love of family and friends, finding immense joy in each and every one of them. She was the ultimate homemaker and mother/grandmother. She will always be remembered for her wonderful meals, her beautiful flowers, and her creativity with ceramics. In addition, her special cheesecake recipe continues to be passed down to family and friends.
In 2008, Lillian became a resident of Emeritus of Friendswood Assisted Living and in 2010 became a resident at Baywind Village Convalescent Home in League City, where she passed peacefully on April 15. Our family wishes to thank the staff at both facilities for the loving care, kindness, and support they provided “Ms. Lillian.”
Lillian will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but remains forever in our hearts.
