Lois Chambless, age 91, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021. Born November 11, 1929.

She was an engineering assistant, an avid gardener, a world traveler, from a small town to a big city. She lived in Texas, Alaska, and many places in between. She loved to read, sew, crochet, paint and have everyone over for dinner.

She's been known to shoot a gun and wield a sickle. She couldn't be kept from working in the yard even just weeks before she left us, taking care of her bird of paradise, roses and feeding banana peels to the squirrels. Just a few months ago, she was even caught up on a ladder attempting to repair her garage door!

Though she traveled far and wide, she chose to rest here in center with her mother, sister and daughter, and near to her remaining family.

She is preceded by her husband Leo Chambless, and daughter Vicki Thomas. She leaves behind her son George Williford, daughter Dianne Nutt, and son Charles Williford, along with grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Granny Chambless will be missed.

Our condolences go out to the Chambless/Smith family and to Lois’s children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lois married to my Uncle Leo in Aug of 1984 after the passing of his first wife, Marilyn. They met at work and enjoyed doing many things together, including gardening and remodeling the home that they shared. Leo had great carpentry skills and built beautiful cabinets for Lois in their home. I have great memories of shared holidays and birthdays with them both.

I would like to thank my son, Beau and Miranda for helping Lois around her home when she needed it plus taking her to appointments and visiting her at the hospital during her last days.

Prayers going up for the families. Lois will be missed.
