

He is preceded in death by his parents Isaac Ellis and Genevieve Marguerite (Callaway) Martin, his older brother Donn Ellis Martin and his older sister Gwendolyn Suzanne "Sue" (Martin) Burchfield.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Mary Louise (Leonard) Martin of League City, TX. They were married on June 10, 1967 in Kansas City, MO.
He is also survived by his older brothers Claude Harold Martin and Gordon Martin; his two sons and their wives: John Timothy "Tim" Martin and Jenny (Wye) Martin of Dallas, TX; and Jeremy Brock Martin and Christina (Crawford) Martin of Austin, TX; and his three grandchildren Hudson Zachary Martin, Annalise Caroline Martin and Suzannah Grace Martin. Grandpa dearly loved his grandkids.
Loren graduated from Northeast High School (Kansas City, MO), Kansas City Junior College (Kansas City, MO) and the University of Missouri (Columbia, MO). After graduating from college, Loren worked with computers as a systems analyst and database administrator for many years - from the time of punch cards and mainframes through Y2K. Loren missed the good old days of mainframe computers.
Loren was very actively involved in family activities through the years including Ashford United Methodist Church (Houston, TX); Memorial Ashford Little League (Houston, TX); Boy Scout Troop 993 (Houston, TX); and church youth soccer. He especially enjoyed going to summer camp with his sons at El Rancho Cima in central Texas.
Loren loved his Kansas City Royals and University of Missouri Tigers and cheered them on to victory, especially the World Series wins by the Royals in 1985 and 2015.
Loren loved researching family history and was an avid genealogist. He enjoyed the fellowship of Clayton Library Friends and the Bay Area Genealogical Society by serving on both boards in numerous leadership positions.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Forest Park East (21620 Gulf Fwy; Webster, TX 77598). A service of remembrance will be Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Forest Park East (21620 Gulf Fwy; Webster, TX 77598). Burial will be at Mt. Washington Cemetery (Independence, MO).
