

Our beloved Wife and Mother went to be with our Lord on April 11th, 2012 after battling an illness; she was 79 years of age. Loretta has resided in League City, TX with her husband since 1998.
Loretta was born on October 20th 1932 in Sulfur, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Robert Lee Green and Sarah "Lettie" Hobbie. Loretta was loved and raised by her Stepfather, Truman Hobbie.
Loretta had two older brothers, Bryan and James, and a younger sister LaQuita and all were raised together in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Loretta graduated in 1950 from Midwest City High School where she served in the Marching Band as an accomplished First Chair Baritone and where she met the love of her life and future husband, Carrol G. Branham.
Loretta and Carrol were married February 17th, 1951 at Midwest City First Baptist Church and started their journey together that was still the greatest love story after 61 years at the time of Loretta’s passing.
She served for numerous years as an accredited Executive Secretary I and retired from the State of Oklahoma in the Tax Commission. She also served as Executive Secretary to the Principle for Del City and Pleasant Hill Elementary Schools as well as secretary for the Bank of Mid-America/1st National Bank at the time of it’s founding. She served various organizations including the PTA, MCHS Booster Clubs and the International Supreme Council Order of DeMoley.
Loretta and Carrol lived together in Midwest City from 1951, where they raised both of their sons, before moving to their current home in League City, TX in 1998.
Loretta led a very active life, she loved travel, sports, crocheting, needlepoint, sewing, boating and was an incredible cook; her pumpkin and pecan pies and brownies are legendary. If an activity involved her family, she was there and a major contributor up to and including the design and manufacture of the Soph. – Senior Homecoming Floats at her home for her youngest son to serving DeMoley and supporting her oldest son’s band.
Loretta served the devotion to her Lord through membership at Midwest City, United Methodist Church, Moody Methodist and most recently 1st United Methodist Church in Dickinson, TX. She and Carrol developed dear friendships in the Texas Travelers organization where they shared travels all over North and South America.
Loretta was an unusually gifted typist; she was so fast that it seemed impossible; setting records in high school state competitions. She was also an avid sports fan for her son’s sports teams.
Loretta is survived by her husband Carrol; son Jim, his wife Amy; son David, his wife Laurie; Grandchildren Aimee Fawns; Cali and Cory Branham, Jaime Cummings and Danielle Smith; Great Grandchildren; Madison and Logan Fawns, Sean and Charlie Cummings and Aiden Smith; Brother James Green; Sister LaQuita Satterlee and a host of Nephews, Nieces, cousins and too many friends to mention but they are not forgotten.
Loretta is preceded in death by her Mother Lettie; Father Robert Lee Green; Stepfather Truman Hobbie; Brother Bryan Greenand Step-Grandson Jeremy Smith.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Forest Park East Cemetery.
