A resident of Pasadena, Texas, Lucy had a rich and fulfilling life. She had a passion for traveling and enjoyed ocean cruises. She loved fishing, bird watching, and tending to her beautiful roses. She attended her great grandchildren’s softball and soccer games, and was an avid reader of all genre. Finally, Lucy looked forward to the weekly dinners out with the Thursday night crew.
Lucy was preceded in death by her first husband, Dale Lonneberg and her youngest daughter, Deborah Lanier. She is survived by her devoted husband Nick Schmidt, her daughter Christine Kerr and her husband John, grandson Daniel Kerr and his wife Erin, and her cherished great-grandchildren Adalyn and Alexander.
She is also survived by her sisters: Deanna Krause, Darlene Hanula and her husband Bob, Gloria Hinton and her husband Clay, and Robin Tooke and her husband Brit. Lucy also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
The memory of Lucy’s courageous spirit and her loving nature will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas, on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00 am, with a committal service and a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to breast cancer research in Lucy’s name.
