Mrs. Mable Chrismer, born September 11, 1931, in Little Rock, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, the 4th of May, 2015, at the age of 83. She was a resident of League City, Texas but had lived in the Clear Lake area for the last 44 years. Mrs. Chrismer was a 1949 graduate of Little Rock Central High School. She attended Little Rock Junior College and graduated in 1951 with a degree in office administration. Being a dedicated Zeta Phi girl, she eventually served as sorority president. She worked through her college years and was the secretary for the president of the college. In May of 1952, she married Lieutenant Donald Chrismer. They left immediately after the wedding so Don could report to his new assignment in Valdosta, Georgia. The young couple set up housekeeping and lived there until Don went to the University of Oklahoma. Following his graduation and being hired by Shell Oil Company, the young couple moved to Houston. In 1957, their first son, Don Jr., was born. Three years later the family increased when their second son, Mike, came along. Shell Oil Company sent the Chrismer family to Westport, Connecticut; Odessa, Texas and Clear Lake City, Texas. No matter where they went, Mrs. Chrismer was always a devoted wife, mother, and active church participant. She always used her generosity in everything she could and for everyone she met. The church reaped the benefits of her volunteer work for many years. Mrs. Chrismer is preceded in death by her parents, William Carl Neely and Ouita Berry Neely; her brothers, William Carl Neely, Jr., William Berry Neely; and her sister, Martha Jean Neely. She is survived by her husband, Donald O. Chrismer; her sons, Donald O. Chrismer, Jr. (Melanie), and William Michael Chrismer (Agnes); grandchildren Lauren Chrismer Williamson (Capt. Andrew), Timothy R. Chrismer, Amanda Marie Chrismer, and Kristie Elders (Coby); great-grandchildren Abigail and David, Matthew, Kylie, and Korbin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
