

He was born in Greensburg, PA on September 15, 1929 to John McCrone and Madeline Berkins Wallace. He was married to Julia Reese Wallace for 54 years. Jim had a career in the United States Air Force flying fighter aircraft. He retired in 1972 as a Squadron Commander at Ellington AFB. Jim then undertook a second career working at Lockheed and Computer Science Corporation in the project management of flight dynamics computers for the NASA Space Shuttle program. He was a member of St Bernadette Catholic Church, Houston TX, and volunteered his time as a member of The Harris County Area Agency on Aging. Jim and his wife, Julia, had a passion for travel all over the world and spending time with their beloved family.
He was preceded in death by his parents John M. and Madeline B. Wallace, and his wife Julia R. Wallace.
He is survived by his daughter Karen Wallace, son Kevin Wallace and wife Jane; granddaughter Amy Flores and husband David Flores, granddaughter Katherine Russell and husband David Russell, grandson John Wallace; and great-grandchildren Ethan Flores, James Russell, Owen Flores and Addison Russell.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1 from 5:00-8:00pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas. A Celebration of Mass will be held Friday, February 2 at 11:00am at St. Bernadette Catholic Church located at 15500 El Camino Real Houston, Texas. Major Wallace will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
