Our beloved Mother or “Mimi”, Margaret “Margo” Elizabeth Clements (Barbee), age 83, died peacefully on the morning of Thursday, August 27, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer.
Margo was born on May 7, 1943, the first of four children, to Grimes Doniphan Barbee and Margaret Eleanor Rodgers Barbee. Margo graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas and spent her early years raising her children there before moving to San Antonio where she began her successful career in the hotel industry. In 1996, she joined her daughters in Pearland, Texas, and began her career with Hilton NASA Clearlake, as the Director of Sales and Catering. Margo poured her heart and soul into her work. However, nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family and friends. Margo also had a love for the ocean, plants, walks, and a good leather handbag.
Margo is preceded in death by her late husband Robert Clements, her son Matthew Paul Grimes Hannon, her brother Tyrone Barbee, her parents Don Barbee and Eleanor Mahoney and her beloved grandmother, Mogie.
Margo is survived by three of her children, Melissa Childers (Doug), Mark Childers, Michelle Abowd (Matt), eight grandchildren Brenden, Berkeley, Bailey, Lauren, Natalie, Nicholas, Morgan and Madison, six great grandchildren, her two brothers, Rick Barbee and Robert Barbee (Rasma) and five nephews. Our “Mimi” was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

A Rosary for Margo will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, US, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm, followed by Visitation at the same location on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral will take place at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, US, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with Committal to follow at the same location on September 9, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
