Maria Yolanda Ortiz, 67, of South Houston, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017. She was born in Falfurrias, Texas on May 24, 1949 to Reyes and Herminia Perez. She was married to Louis Ortiz for 48 years. She retired from AT&T as an operator.
Maria had a passion for her loving family. She would fill her home with the wonderful smells of her delicious baked treats. She was known take time out of her day to keep up with her novelas.
She was preceded in death by parents, Reyes and Herminia Perez.
She is survived by husband, Louis Ortiz; children, Michele, Miguel, Leticia and Angelica; siblings, Rey, Diana, Noela and Ricky; grandchildren, Andrew, Jesse, Vanessa, Elizabeth, Stecyva, Kanye, Celeste, Joe, Mathew, Jazlyn and Donovan.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 20, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. The Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
