Frances Marie Brabant of New Waverly, Texas passed away on August 1, 2021 at the young age of 97. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 1,1924 to Catherine Marie and Frank D Laws. She was married to Bernard Robert Brabant for 68 loving years.
Always known as Marie to all that knew her. She met the love of her life at a USO dance in 1945 during WW II. On April 14, 1951 she married Bernard "Bernie" Robert Brabant. From 1953 through 1963 their family quickly grew to 5 daughters and 1 son, what were they thinking....? They moved from New York to Clear Lake City in 1965, then to New Waverly in 1985 upon retirement.
Marie possessed a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, that will always be remembered! She took pride in raising her family and meeting the challenges of everyday life! She was a wonderful cook and it was always an open door policy, when it came to mealtime and having friends over. Weekends and vacations were typically spent camping with the family during the chlidrens' younger years. Family was always a priority "family comes first." Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she would collect gifts year round! She often forgot where she had hidden her Christmas treasures (occasionally finding them after the holiday). She was a very devout Catholic and served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church for many years in Clear Lake City, Tx.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, and her beloved husband Bernie. She is survived by 2 sisters, her loving children - Denise, Christina, Thomas, Elizabeth, Melissa, Kathleen along with their spouses. 9 grandchildren - Kathryn, Whiney, Lauren, Robert, Carley, Julia, Amy, Nicholas, and Alexander and 3 great-grandchildren - Austin, Taylor and William.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, August 9th at St. Mary's Catholic Church - 1612 East Walker Street, League City, TX 77573 and a reception will follow for all to attend at Tom and Carol Brabant's residence. Burial will immediately follow church services at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598 (limited to family members only).
