Mary Marie Roberts, 93, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of faith, love, and devotion to her family. Marie was born on March 25, 1933, in Madisonville, Texas, the first of five children born to Ples and Winnie Culbreth. In 1942, her family moved to Pasadena, where she would spend the remainder of her life.
At the age of nine, Marie gave her life to Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life and a source of inspiration, hope and comfort throughout her 93 years. The faith she embraced as a young girl remained a defining part of who she was and the legacy she leaves behind.
As a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Marie met Gilbert, the man who would become her husband and lifelong companion. After a courtship of just ten months, they married on July 7, 1951, beginning a beautiful love story that spanned 75 years. Their marriage was grounded in their shared faith in God, their enduring love for one another, and their unwavering commitment to family.
Marie and Gilbert were blessed with two sons, Steven Charles Roberts, born in 1956, and Mark Lynn Roberts, born in 1959. Mark, along with his wife Susan, added six beloved grandchildren—Meagan, Kaileigh, Emily, Chase, Dillan, and Cady—and six precious great-grandchildren—Penny, Bennett, Wesley, Emmaline, Remy, and Cooper. Marie treasured her family above all else. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immeasurable happiness and joy.
Though her family grieves her passing, they take comfort in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Her earthly journey is complete, but her love will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Rest peacefully, Marie. Your faith has carried you home, and your love will live on through the generations you leave behind.
