Martha Lou Pearson Longshore was born on May 14,1925 in Texas City, Texas to Edward Rue Pearson and Fannie Lou Pearson. She passed away peacefully at 98 years old on October 20,2023 at Loving Care Home in Willis, Texas.
Martha graduated from Texas City High School in 1943 and worked for Monsanto Chemical for several years. After raising her children she became a well known hairstylist in Texas City. While in Santa Fe, she enjoyed canning and sharing from her two acre garden.
Martha married the love of her life, John Edward Longshore, on April 28, 1944. Her three most cherished roles in her adult life were a wife to John, as a loving mother to Sherry, Steve, Linda and Nelda and a doting grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren
Martha will be remembered as a selfless spirit, and her love for others. She had a one-of-a-kind gift of hospitality that permeated her entire life. She loved hosting holiday gatherings or family dinners. Martha was the consummate hostess. All were welcome. All were loved. To know her was to love her; to be known by her was to feel love.
Martha loved the Lord. She was a founding member of Northside Baptist Church in Texas City. She was a Sunday School teacher, a leader in Girl's Auxiliary and Vacation Bible School. Another of her many talents was that she was a wonderful seamstress and a designer of clothes for her daughters.
Martha is survived by her brother Alex Wayne Pearson of Texas City, her children Sherry Allison of Huntsville Texas, Steve Longshore of Stanwood, Washington (wife Denise), Linda Mascorro of Liberty Hill, Texas (husband Maurice), Nelda Jo Rasmussen of League City, Texas (husband Jimmy), 11 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
