

Mary E. “Peggy” Armstrong went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday evening, July 23, 2013. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on February 6, 1927. Peggy married the love of her life, 2nd Lt. John F. Armstrong, Sr. on October 6, 1945. She lived most of her life in Midland, Texas where she blessed her family as a homemaker and blessed others as an active volunteer. A faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, she served the church as a deacon, a ruling elder, Stephen’s minister and in various other capacities with the denomination. She also was a long-time volunteer with the “Pink Ladies” Auxiliary at Midland Memorial Hospital where she spent thousands of hours and even served that organization as its president.
Peggy will be privately interred at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, TX on Friday, July 26th with a public memorial service to be held at Webster Presbyterian Church at 1:00 p.m., Rev. John Armstrong officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Mo Ranch Women’s Conference. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 67 years John F. “Jack” Armstrong, Sr., her children and their spouses: Kevin and Anne Churchill of Nassau Bay, Texas; Shane and Kathy Alexander of Southlake, Texas; David and Emily Scott of Southlake, Texas and Rev. John and Cyndy Armstrong of Frederick, Maryland. She also leaves many grandchildren including: Tim and Kathleen Davies; Nick and Jodie Churchill; Garrett, Drew and Corrie Scott (formerly of Midland); Nathan, Josh, Sarah and Seth Alexander; and John and Jennette Armstrong. Her great-grandchildren include: Ben and Anne Davies; Shelby Doriss and Sarah Churchill.
