Mary E. Forbes -- the Bling, Bling Queen -- departed Earth to her Heavenly home on November 12, 2015. She was born in Marvell, Arkansas on July 25, 1947 to Thomas and Dorothy Powell and lived in Texas for most of her life. For the past 23 years she has lived in Bacliff, Texas, and most recently with her two beloved little dogs, Molly and Mandy. She had a host of friends and acquaintances and was well known for her impeccable taste in, well, almost everything. She had a remarkable personality and sense of humor . . . and a heart as big as Texas. Mary originated and/or owned several businesses through the years including Diamonette Jewels, Northside Secretarial Services, VIP Secretarial Services and Executive Couriers-USA. For the past few years she owned and operated The Bling Bling Shop, known for its big, bold, beautiful jewelry and fashion accessories. Winning many awards, Mary loved and excelled at competitive dancing -- but most of the time just danced for fun! She had a passion for Cadillacs, designer clothing, jewelry and all things bling! An ardent and savvy entrepreneur, she was a member of various chambers and women's business organizations throughout the Bay area. She is survived by her beloved sister, Ellen Aldhizer; her brothers, Jimmy Powell and Boyd Powell; niece, Laura Rau; nephews, Troy Frazee and Rodney Frazee; as well as many lifelong friends, including her special friend, Kimberly Gomez. A "Celebration of Life" service will held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Forest Park East - Funeral Home and Cemetery 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX, 77598. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. immediately followed by a Chapel Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mary E. Forbes Memorial Fund at gofundme.com/h2anr2vw
