Mary Olivo Gomez, went to be with her Lord Savior June 15, 2022 at the age of 91 years young. The mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother passed away peacefully in her home of 58 years.
She was born in Houston, Texas on June 17, 1930 to Blas and Sabina (Olivo) Tristan. She was married to Sebastian Aguilar Gomez for 66 years before his passing. Mary was a vivacious and compassionate matriarch to her family. She and Sebastian loved to go dancing, even as the years went by Mary would love to dance as she sat with family and friends. Mary was also a stylish woman and an avid thrifter. No one had luck like Mary, she would go on trips with her family and they would play and win together.
She is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband Sebastian Gomez, her parents and one half-sister Frances Martinez.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her son David Olivo Gomez, five daughters Esther (John) Tristan, Rebecca (Henry) Guerra, Ida (Rudy) Guerra, Sylvia (Gilbert) Rodriguez, Cynthia (Rudy) Rocha and one brother Samuel (Carmen) Olivo, Sr. Also surviving are her grandchildren Sandi (Wade) Dabbs, Christopher (Karen) Columbus, Sophia (Henry) Gonzalez, Henry (Bianca) Guerra, Jr., Michael (Gina) Guerra, Rudy (Zulma) Guerra, Angela (Robert) Salcedo, Alex Guerra, Gilbert (Samantha) Rodriguez Jr., Mandi (JoJo) Zamora, Jennifer (Rick) Villalon, Cory (Vanessa) Gomez, Corina (Leasley, Jr.) Patterson as well as numerous, beloved, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A visitation for Mary will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home,with rosary service starting at 6:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM followed by a committal service at Forest Park East Cemetery.
